new years deal - another genre bending release on the healing company. modern sounding wave vibes and a great break beat loaded track on the flip that wont do harm to any good dancefloor!. -an ancient puzzle of mystification and nostalgia, waiting for the listener to unravel the mystery, but never offering enough clues to do so. while an ever-growing mass of synth layers and bulbous basslines flow across these two tracks, it never comes off as too clean, instead relying on the occasional detune or bitcrush to remind you it s being made by humans, not a machine.-

aus music ready a double vinyl remix package from cassys debut album, donna which came out in june 2016. with donna we hear a more personal side of cassy. co-produced by her soul brother king britt, cassy reconnects with her vocal talentwriting lyrics and singing on all tracks but one, making the album an intimate journey from the soul. cassy has en-listed some of her most respected peers, all of whom have put their own stamp on the original tracks. this makes the remix package the perfect contrast to the album, and also proves that cassys original music has the seal of approval from some of the finest house and techno heavyweights on the circuit today. marcel dettmann adds an endearing edge to move move, whilst ron bacardi picks up an undeniable pace on all i do. feel is taken on a cosmic journey with onsulade’s yoruba, and radio slave gives keep trying the remix treatment twice. finally keep trying is reworked on by friend & collaborator, djulz, julz takes takes things down a subtle, dubbier route with his edit, keeping cassys vocals a staple throughout.

bass cadet records is excited to introduce its new series : orbits. originally established in 2012, the label also stands a little vinyl corner on weserstrasse since june 2013, right in the middle of the always bubbling neighborhood of berlin-neukölln. curated from the recordstore, the series is dedicated to the artists who support it and make its life. leaning on strong ties of respect and friendship, orbits will consist of a slew of releases featuring some of the most inspiring and influential artists of the electronic music scene. orbits will start with a re-issue of two ron trent timeless jams out of his “dance classic” album, released on prescription on cd only in 2009.

its always unwise to judge a label thats still taking its first steps, but banoffee pies has barely put a foot wrong since launching a couple of years back. here, the bristol-based imprint continues with its successful split release formula, gathering together a quartet of tracks from up-and-coming producers. beaner kicks things off with the bumpin , low-slung deep house grooves and delay-laden guitar samples of it takes two, before philou louzolo raises the temperature with the looped horn samples and thumping beats of alter ego. flip for the dreamy balearic house goodness of ron wilson s albino turtle, and the bongo-laden, after-party deep house shuffle of mome s assatta.
